ACT Biosecurity Strategy

The ACT Government is seeking feedback on its Draft ACT Biosecurity Strategy which outlines the management of exotic plants and animals, as well as diseases which effect both plants and animals. Horses, their owners and land managers will be impacted by this strategy primarily in relation to management of potential equine epidemics such as equine influenza and Hendra virus. There is a good outline of the Strategy and a link to the draft document at http://www.timetotalk.act.gov.au/consultations/?engagement=draft-act-biosecurity-strategy.

Consultation closes 5 pm Wednesday 19 August 2015

The ACT Equestrian Association will be making a submission in regard to the Strategy and is interested in the views of the equestrian community (info@actea.asn.au).
