Reserve Closures for Aerial Pest Control program in May

The ACT Government will be undertaking a Thermal Assisted Aerial Control (TAAC) program to remove vertebrate pest species from key conservation areas, water catchments and peri urban areas from Thursday 8 May 2025 to Friday 30 May 2025. 

To ensure this work can be undertaken safely the areas listed below will be temporarily closed under the Nature Conservation Act 2014 and Trespass on Territory Lands ACT 1932. Closures will be staged during the operational period to minimise disruption to Park and Reserve users.

Bullen Range Nature Reserve, Miowera Pines and part of Pierces Creek Forest – Closed 8 May 2025 to 18 May 2025. These areas will reopen from 19 May.

Gigerline Nature Reserve, Rob Roy Nature Reserve South and part of Ingledene Forest – Closed 8 May 2025 to 18 May 2025. These areas will reopen from 19 May.

  • Stony Creek Nature Reserve and Hyles Forest (Cotter Pines) – Closed 8 May 2025 to 16 May 2025. These areas will reopen from 17 May.
  • Molonglo River Reserve – Closed 12 May 2025 to 16 May 2025. This reserve will reopen from 17 May.
  • Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and part of Pierces Creek Forest – Closed 15 May 2025 to 16 May 2025. These areas will reopen from 17 May.
  • Namadgi National Park – West of Boboyan Road – Closed 16 May 2025 to 27 May 2025. This area will reopen from 28 May.
  • Namadgi National Park – East of Boboyan Road – Closed 19 May 2025 to 28 May 2025. This area will reopen from 29 May
  • Northern Namadgi National Park and Lower Cotter Catchment – Closed 19 May 2025 to 28 May 2025. These areas will reopen from 29 May.‘
  • Googong Foreshore – Closed from 26 May 2025 to 30 May 2025. Googong Foreshore will reopen from 31 May.
