ACT Equestrian Association 2025 Presidents Report

As we head to the end of another busy year we have time to reflect on the excellent efforts put in to the Association by all those involved, Committee, EPMG, affiliates, our government contacts and of course our horse riding community.

After my full year in the role I have come to liken ACTEA to an octopus. A central body with many tentacles that are constantly active endeavouring to provide the best environment possible for our equestrian community and I am extremely proud of our achievements around this.

A lot of work has been done around our legal documents in bringing them up to speed with the current environment and ensuring we are compliant with all our legislated requirements.

Many meetings have been attended by members of the committee around a full range of matters from government departments such as Infrastructure Canberra, City Services Canberra, Rural Services, Sport and Recreation and many contractors have liaised with committee members around development impacts, agistment properties and the National Trail.

EPMG have had another amazing year successfully hosting many National, State and local events and this couldn’t be achieved without the army of volunteers who continually support these events and the people competing in them.

A big thank you to our committee for your ongoing efforts in making ACTEA the best it can be. I don’t like to single anyone out but a big thanks to Jenny Costin for doing a stellar job at maintaining the continuity of the Trail amid all the property development being carried out in the ACT.

Happy trails and see you all next year.
