ACTEA President’s March 2022 Report

This is where the ACTEA Committee reports on activities its members have undertaken on behalf of Affiliates. 

Meeting

  • Meeting with Economic Development Directorate re construction of new tennis facility on BNT route at Amaroo
  • Meeting with LDK Project manager about their plans for the development of the Forest Park site next to the Cotter Plots
  • Meeting with SFP staff about booking of equestrian trails for events by mountain bike groups and failure to educate cyclists about behaviour on equestrian trails

Field Trip

  • Meeting with Jerrabomberra wetlands CEO re his plans to build a high ropes and flying fox attraction at Majura Pines
  • On site consultation with Economic Development Directorate re construction of new tennis facility on BNT route at Amaroo

  • Represented ACTEA @ SFP venue hire presentation
  • Participated in Sport & Recreation Strategy Planning session
  • Comments on a proposed variation to the Territory Plan on Blocks 586 and 736 Majura opposite the Pines for Capital Battens.
  • Consultation with Wodens re work they are doing on the relocation of the power cable from Whitlam to the Molonglo
  • Continued conversations with Evoenergy about the hole next to the Oakey Hill cavaletti
  • Representations to the Deputy Director of TCCS about the RSPCA move to Duntroon Horse Paddocks
  • Conversations with Senior Ranger parks North re the use of Clos Bridge by equestrians
  • Conversations with Senior Ranger parks North re the proposed installation of a high ropes and flying fox attraction at Majura Pines
  • Representations to the Suburban Land Agency about alternative routes around road closures in the Arboretum
  • Response to TCCS Community Engagement Officer regarding the outcome of the William Hovell Drive duplication consultation
  • Complaint to TCCS Permits re lack of information or warning about car rally in Kowan and Blue Range forests
