ACTEA President’s November 2019 Report

This is where the ACTEA Committee reports on activities its members have undertaken on behalf of Affiliates.

Meetings

  • ACTEA & BNT meeting with to discuss cross directorate equestrian issues such as event permits, trail mapping and signage
  • Attendance at Stromlo Forest Park Consultative Committee to discuss ongoing issues with the Master Plan
  • meeting with City Services about continuing issues with the Parkrun event at North Weston Ponds

Representations

  • attendance st Canberra Nature Park community information session to ask questions about equestrian content of the Draft Reserve Management Plan
  • continuing interaction with Emergency Services about options for dealing with the Equestrian Park burn piles
  • representations to City Presentation about the problems with unrestrained dogs on Narrabundah Hill
  • representations to Parks South re a jammed horse gate on Narrabundah Hill (instantly fixed!)
  • question to government as to where the Eastern Broadacre Strategy announced in January was at
  • interaction with consultants for yet another waste disposal facility at Hume near the government horse paddocks
  • response to a Liberal Party announcement of their new sport & recreation policy which does not include equestrian activities

Submission

  • submission to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development Inquiry into the regulation of recreational and commercial drones

Other

  • attendance sat Ministerial press conference re new route for the Heysen Street bike path through Oakey Hill Reserve
