New Arrangement for Crossing Cotter Road to Equestrian Park

As of today we have a new configuration for the equestrian crossing of the Cotter Road to the Equestrian Park entrance. This has been caused by the progress with building the Curtin Great Sound Wall!

Huon now propose to bring horses along a dirt path in front of the sound wall to the actual crossing point controlled by the lollipop persons. There is the dirt path, the old cycle path and then the old Cotter Road carriageway between horses and traffic as you move along the wall. Huon are building an earth ramp to get horses down the the grassy area behind the wall and onto the existing horse trail as in the this map.

The route seems to be far enough away from the bridge to not worry horses and there will be little works traffic on this part of the roadway but I wouldn’t suggest you use this route on your own unless you have a bomb proof horse – at least for the first time.

There are some bickies working on the noise wall but they should be finished this section before next week.

The underpass will remain open on the weekends. We have not managed to get them to remove the scaffolding altogether but it has been moved back against the wall and there is a clear line of sight for horses from one end to the other.
