ACTEA has for some time been trying to organise a demonstration of the Project Wing delivery drone being trialed in Bonython. The Project Wing licence from CASA requires them to confine the drones to a limited area around Bonython and they felt their base was inappropriate for a number of people to watch a demonstration. They finally arranged to use a local playing field for the purpose and offered a demonstration on a weekend in July.
Despite widely disseminating this offer through its various mailing lists with several weeks notice, ACTEA did not receive a single expression of interest in attending the demonstration. We thanked project Wing and called off the demonstration.
ACTEA has to conclude that commercial drones are not at this point a concern for Canberra equestrians.
