Late yesterday ACTEA was advised by Transport and City Services that ” in view of the strong community feedback on the Chapman site, the risks raised with the mix of uses and the Bicentennial National Trail MOU, this site will not be supported as a dog park”.
The government has chosen to continue with the community consultation through the Your Say website but will announce at its completion that the Chapman site was found to be inappropriate.
The Bicentennial National Trail MOU is an agreement between ACTEA, the ACT government and the national Board of the BNT to manage and protect the Trail in the Territory and it is a very useful document in circumstances like this. The MOU is on this website under Documents..
